How do yo make ramps?

I've just made my fantastic cage with 2 levels but how do i attatch a ramp so they can get up?? and what should the ramp be made of so they can grip on to get up?
Are tey any good at climing steep things or is it better to have steps up??

You could make a slight declined ramp, that is what I am doing, and I am making it out of mini grids, so they are smaller than regular grids. You could cut regular grids in half and then bend the pointy edges that are sticking out under, though. But you have to cover the wire and the holes with carpet (edges covered so they can't chew on the frayed ends) or do like I am going to do, weave hay in and out of the holes.

If you go to the photo galleries, theres a section dedicated to ramps. Take a look at my pictures. I recently built a ramp out of two bent grids (the normal sized ones). I got some left over carpet, made holes in it and attatched it to the bend grids using cable ties. I think its easier to have a smooth ramp rather than having 'steps'.

how about using some leftover coro?

Do you think they'd have enough grip with left over coroplast?

yes. lots of people have made ramps with leftover coro. if you want, for grip, ive seen people add about cm wide strips of coro all the way up the ramp (attached with glue) at about 2 inch intervals.

that sounds clever!
I couldn't tell on the pictures what they used to connct the ramps - but got lots of cable ties now so im all ready to get ramping my cage :)
Gonna join all your ideas together and use left over coro and... carpet it - clever huh :)

Thanks again for brill advice!!

Sounds good. Remember to post pics!

got loads of pictures - hopefully ill put them on soon - when i work out how to!! my cage doesn't look half as good as the cages on here but my girls love it - snuffles was pop corning all over the place when i put her in - and still is! they are shooting up and down the ramp like mad things. they love it.
