Behavior How do you hold a guinea pig?

How would you pick up and hold a guinea pig? How shouldn't you pick up and hold a guinea pig? I would appreciate pictures of you picking up and holding your GP.

calmy pop your hand under the bum with your other hand securely around the chest and then you can hold them close to you ^^ of course if they are very skittish you could try catch them in a box just lure them in with lettuce

I pick them up by putting my right hand under their chest and use my left hand to hold and support their rear. I have their right front leg anchored in the "V" between my thumb and pointer finger. My thumb and four fingers hold them securely.

initially if they're very skittish , i use a cuddlesack and they happily go in and i pick them up. now that they know what it's for, i can't do that anymore! XD

luckily, one of my girls is okay if i slide one hand under her chest, lift her front up slightly, and slide my other hand under her rear and lift. the other one i have to do a quick swoop with both hands she hates being picked up but is PERFECTLY okay after being lifted up. -_-

the only picture i have of a piggy being held is by my hubby. 30 seconds later she peed in his hands.
