C&C How Big?

So I was wondering how big I should make my C&C cage to house 7 gps..? I see on guineapigcages.com it only gives the area to up to 4 gps. Thanks!

The guidelines are 7.5 sq ft for 1 guinea pig and then 2.5 sq ft for each additional GP. So for 7 piggies you need 22.5 sq ft. You need at least a 2x9, though, with 7 piggies I would probably go with a 3x8 or larger.

Are they male or female? Boars need a bit more room in order to avoid fights.

Thanks Piggypuppylove!! They are all girls. I actually have enough space to make a 3.5 by 9.5 area for them. So that should be plenty! I'm so excited for them bc I want to make sure they have enough proper space!

oh yes! Please post pics! That is going to be one HUGE cage! Although I'm glad i don't have to buy the fleece for that, LOL. Check out Joanns fabric-a lot of the fleece is on sale for $4.99/yd.

Wow that's a lot of room! Your pigs will be very happy! I wish I had the room to just make one huge cage out of the grids I have, however, I don't so mine is in a sorta "L" shape, and is about 40 sq ft for 4 guinea pigs, which is soon to be 6, as I am adopting or fostering two new piggies from someone.

I will so post pics for y'all! I just moved so I have my own woman cave! Lol. I just got done building most of it. So far the dimensions are 138 inches by 45 inches roughly (possibly a half a inch bigger on each side). So if I calculated correctly it's roughly 11.5 ft by 3.75 ft. If any one wants to text my math go right ahead. I'm not great at math. I hope this will be enough room for them because I was intending to make it a tad bigger than that but the amount of supplies I had budgeted for kinda went over. I hope this is enough.

I want to do fleece bedding again! But for now I am going to do regular bedding until I can get more money saved up for the fleece. Trust me I want fleece but right now it isn't pratcial for me money wise to splurge since the move and building the new cage. However I promise it will still be beautiful!

That's 43.1 sq ft! That's enough room for about 14 guinea pigs if you follow the guidelines

Oh wow Piggypuppylove! I guess I will have plenty of room for them! Goodness once you break it down like that, that's a lot of room! Wow I'm in awe! Well they are very very lucky spoiled piggies indeed! I should be done with the C&C cage tonight but unfortunately I won't have pictures quite yet ready because I want to decorate and what not around it. I think when I do fleece I'm going to somehow get velcro to sew on the bottom of the fleece and then have Velcro stuck to the bottom of the cage and have like two fleeces. I'm thinking that would be more manageable to wash when it's time to wash it. Humnnn, I'm thinking way ahead but angers I'm rambling now so I better get back to working on this.
