My two piggies had mits so I took them to the vet and got then treated with revolution and completely disinfected their cages with bleach. After treatment, Lucy stopped iitching but pregnant Moo started itching even more!.I called the vet about moo and he said that there was nothing eles to do about the itching for the time being if the revolution didn't work.
Now two weeks have passed and Moo dosnt seem to be itching as much but Lucy has started itching again!
Is it normal to have mites flare up again after a treatment of revolution? or is it just not working properly?
Can mites still be on a guinea pig after treatment (in fur and such) and therefor be transfered to a disinfected cage by a piggy who has already been treated?
I appologize about the breage of questions, but I watched my last two piggies die because of an unsucessfull mite treatment and I just cant bare to think of my girls suffering like that. PLEASE HELP

Revolution will kill the mites as they hatch. It could be that new mites are hatching and then dying off. I would give the Revolution a bit more time to work, and if they are still scratching, take them back to the vet. If they have seizures, take them back ASAP.

Bleach isn't necessary to disinfect the cage, and the fumes could bother your pigs, who have very sensitive senses of smell. Mites need a guinea pig to survive. Just wash the cage well with 50% vinegar next time.
