I have 2 male guinea pigs that are around 8 months from what i was told and they were in a 2x5 cage together. I adopted them from a lady in my town and said they were bonded. Now, one chases the other none stop, body blocks, and they both teeth chatter loudly. I have found a little bit of fur bundles in their cage. Do I separate them? I have temporarily till they calm down but when i let them back together it happens again. They have their own food bowls, water bottles, hideouts, tunnels, toys, hay feeders...etc. I have them in a 2x4 each but with a 2x2 shared wall. They will try to chew on the grid of the shared wall when they are on either side of it. Can I just stack their cages? or do they have to be able to see each other. They prefer doing their own things in their own space. They still popcorn when separated.

This exactly happened to me when I got my 2 male piggies. The previous owner said they were great with each other but they would just fight. I ended up separating them because I didn't want them to get hurt. Both start chittering whenever they see each other so I have them in 2 separate cages now in different rooms. If you have the space then that is what I recommend. Otherwise, I think stacking the cages would be fine unless they're not stable and likely to fall down.
