help with shelter pamphlet?

Hi, I wanted to post this in the adoption page but I messed up and can't get the global account now with one email. So I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I just started to work for the SPCA -society for the prevention of cruelty to animals. There are on average 6-10 piggies every week. I'm starting to see that no one has a clue as to gp care and I have no idea what they are telling new adopting parents that may not have done thier homework. So I thought of putting together a pamphlet to give to all gp's going to their new homes. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm waiting on a reply from bookstores to see if they'll donate any gp care books. I also thought that I could put down this websight if they have access to a computer because of all the info available here. I was also thinking of printing up some photos of the cages here and putting them up at the shelter for them to see. But I don't want to scare off any potential owners with the size of the cages. I just want them to be educated. The shelter people also. So any help would be so greatly appreciated.
On a different note- I just added a second level to my guys house, and they love it. All they do now is run up and down the ramp. Sorry for the long post but I think it's worth it to try to help these guys. Oh-this is the SPCA of Clearwater,Florida if anyone is looking to adopt.

Re: help with shelter pamphlet?

First, you might want to be in touch with Laurie, she's a great rescue in Florida. Her contact info is on this page: (broken link removed)

There already are a couple of pamphlett options. One is here:

The other is here: (broken link removed)
You can register the shelter as a 'store' and create a custom care sheet for the shelter.

There is also a pamphlett for the cages on the front page of cavy cages.

Re: help with shelter pamphlet?

A care pamphlet sounds great! When I got my girls I was given one and I was really dissapointed in the quality of the information. My husband and I did about six months of research before we got our girls and we were horrified at the pictures of those torture chamber cages being given as examples of enough space for a pair! Most people won't be put off by pictures of cages, I'll think they'll be inspired! Please give people info about feeding too, I still run into pet owners buying those little crappy pellets thinking its enough to keep a pig healthy, its horrifying!
Good luck and thanks for helping our furry children!
