HELP WITH RAMP PLEASE READ AND RESPOND!

Hello All i was wondering how steep the ramp for my little piggy should be? Also how long does it usually take for them to venture up to the second level? Any information on ramps to second levels and second levels would help. Thank You!

I have a 40 cm long ramp (about 16") to go up 20 cm to the second floor. But they never start from the base of the ramp, they jump on top of the house and then they jump directly on the second floor.

They learned very quickly (a few minutes), you can help them with some food.

I have a 4' cage with 3 ramps connecting 4 floors. The ramps aren't very steep and are made of hard wire. My guinea pig's seem to have no trouble getting up and down them. I sometimes stuff hay in the ramps and the guinea pig's make more of a tunnel of the ramp!

Ramp

For mine I made it in 2 sections... 1 to a platform at half one grid size & then 1 to the top. To make ramps I cut one grid in half & secured a rectangle of coroplast to it with sandpaper for grip. I too find that they more often jump between the top/platform/bottom than actually climbing the ramps (Although they do use them, particularly when they are going slower than a run... which is not so often )

& within a few hours they were running up & down & around everywhere (with a bit of encouragement... food on the platform & I put them on each level at a time as they had never had multiple levels before)
