My girl, Patches, has really soft white fur all around her mouth and I have just noticed that she had horrible orange stains all it. I am assuming that it is from the carrots that she eats. I was wondering if anyone knew of any products that are good to use for getting rid of these stains. I don't want to use shampoo because I have a feeling that I will have to wash her face on a regular basis and I heard that you are not really suppose to put shampoo on a guinea pigs face. Any ideas???

it usually just fades, don't worry my boys get it too, sometimes dagwell gets dark green around his mouth when I give him certain foods.

Thats odd. Ascot has a white face, and I give him carrots everyday but he doesn't have any stains!

I actually think it may be because her fur actually feels like it is satin. I don't have this problem with my other two guineas. Her back end also stains very frequently with urine. I really don't want to give her baths to often, but she starting to look kinda dirty and I really don't think that it will fade because she gets carrots everyday. I 'm just completely out of ideas. I let it go for now and she if the stains do go away on there own.

I think it may be normal. My piggie had dark green on her face and I found out it was throw-up and that night she died.

queenB guiinea pigs can't throw up.

I saw her do it. She had green all down her chin and she was coughing. The vet even said she threw up.
