Help! My eldest Georgette is sneezing! It's not constant, I'd say half an hour apart. And her nose was running a little but it wasn't really crusty. Could she have a possible URI? I just heard the noises tonight, and she seems well off. She is still eating and drinking and running around, and her poops are normal. Is this serious? Help please!:ashamed:

Edit:
I Cheacked the guinealynx.com and it doesn't seem as bad as they explain it. So far I saw 1 possibly 2 symtoms out of however many is there. So I am still confused.

It sounds like the early stages of one to me. But I wouldn't know. I say take him to the vet to be sure and keep an eye on him.

Do you weigh her weekly? If so, check to see if she has lost any weight. Have you recently changed bedding? Keep a close eye on her and I would probably make a vet appointment.

They are prey animals, so they hide their illnesses and they go downhill fast. I would get her to a vet. You don't want to wait til she gets pneumonia or worse.

I would get Georgette to a vet. It sounds to me like the symptoms of a URI; I don't think her nose would be runny if it was a reaction to a change of bedding.

The runny nose may lead on to a crusty nose, and the sneezing could become more frequent. So, like everyone has said do take her to the vet to catch the URI (if it is) in it's early stage.

Ok thanks everyone! I'll make an appointment for her tomorrow. The vets office is full today. I do weigh her everyone couple of weeks because I was thinking that nothing would happen, she hasn't dropped any weight so far. But now I am going to weigh her everyday. Also today is cage cleaning day, could that be a reason? I use kiln pine bedding and have for her whole life so I don't see why she would sneeze. Also her sneezing sounds kind of conjested. We have a small pet/ Exotic vet down the road so I will walk there with her if I have to.

Is there anything I should do for her before the appointment? She is still eating and drinking and acting normal.

My piggers have just FULLY:D recoved from URI's:p . Well maybe just keep a eye on her and comfert her for a little wile. Also if you have more ppiggies living in the same cage seperate as soon as you can! You do not want more pigs cacthing it.

Hope this helps!

How is she tonight?

It's weird she stopped after 2 nights ago and hasn't sneezed or anything. I couldn't get an appiontment yesterday, they said they were busy till next week, and said it wasn't an emergency. So I called another office for a second opinion and they said they can get me in on saturday. So I took up that offer. She seems like she is fine and not sick at all but I don't want to risk it.
