Help on outdoor cage.

I have been getting in troble with my mom about the bedding around the house. She even threatened to get rid of my pig if ew don't see any improvement. So since I have a large enough space in my back yard, can anyone help me on insulation? We have a hutch with wire bottom, but I can cover it with carpet. I live in Healdsburg and it gets chilly at night. I will post up photos of the area soon.

Nooo! I have a suggestion - Switch your bedding to fleece or towels and poof, no more bedding outside the cage.

Yes, PLEASE do not put your piggies out side. Use fleece. It is a bit expensive initially but in the end it is cheaper, becaue to change it you just wash it.

Can you just vacuum it up more? Or switch bedding? You have a C&C right? Make the sides higher. I'm in CA. They should not be outside. Carpet gets smelly fast.

I made my coroplast 8 inches instead of 6 inches and I have no problems with shavings getting out.

I think that fleece would definetely be a good option for you. There is absolutely no mess outside of the cage. I would not put them outside because guinea pigs can only handle temperature between 65 and 75 degrees (or so) and it is bound to get colder or hotter than that outside.

Thanks, but I'm making an outdoor area during the day for him so he can have his own outdoor time. And does anyone know any places where I can buy/order fleech at a cheap price? Thanks! ^_^

I found fleece blankets at Walmart for $3 each.

What section were the fleece blanket in? Were they blankets or just fabric?
