hey,

im thinkin about keeping Guinea Pigs again but i need to build me a good size cage for 3 or 4 of them but what is the best way to build a cage out of?

Of cause Cubes & Coroplast cage with 2x5 grids (the bigger the better) will be good for 3-4 piggies.

can i get the Cubes & Coroplast cage at walmart or what? thx for your reply

You can get the cubes (grids) at walmart but you have to get the coroplast from some place else. Try looking in the phone book for a sign shop. That's where I got mine.

what is a good size cage for 2 guinea pigs?? and i like to make a cage that lower level long then top level not long just a good size where they can go get some sleep whatever but i dont know a good size cage to build and i dont got much room so..i want something that easy to build and low cost too lol

Instead of building longer, we went wider. We built 3x4 cages for three pigs each. Cozy and roomy.

The 3x4 would be extra roomy for just two pigs.

how did you get such a huge piece of cloroplast? or did you just connect two pieces?

I joined two pieces. Just butt them up against each other (not overlapping) and use strapping tape. It feels a bit floppy until you get the sides folded up and then you don't know the difference.

really? ok, because i think i might have to do that too

Yep, it works just fine. I hope you build your cages soon!

i have six piggies and my cage is 4X4. yeah, i bet none of you have heard of that. i bought two of the coroplast pieces for the 2X4 size cage and went and bought cubes at target. sometimes i feel like that isn't big enough for all of them.

A 4x4 is barely big enough for 6 piggies- I think you should probably add on to about a 4x5, because a 4x4 is only 16 sq ft. I have five piggies in a 4x4, but one is going to move out really soon.

i am thinking about buying another 2X4 coroplast piece from the website, but i absolutely do not have enough space right now.

How about adding on a top level then?

I just want to say, from the beginning it said :'im thinkin about keeping Guinea Pigs AGAIN'...I just want to say, unless you've had as many as 3-4 before, you should start out with 2. I started with 1, went to 2, then 3, but I wasn't expereinced enough (+ I didn't know this website) so now I only have one. (The first one died on rabbit: Respatory)

Hey all,

i wanna know what is a good size cage for two guinea pigs??? and i wanna ask few more things too im goin to try to go to this pet shop this weekend to pick up two guinea pigs but if they no more then $5 i'll pick up 3 if they getting along in the cage at the pet shop and what can i use for a cage when i get them?? b/c i dont got there cage builded yet and the pet shop im goin to is like 3 hrs away there isnt no pet shops around here and that pet shop im goin to is a good one too

oh yea i forgot something i wanna ask its getting cold up here soon it will be snowin and my bedroom is always cold so..what do i do to keep them from getting cold??

Please do not go to that pet store.

#1 You have no cage yet.
#2 They'll all need to be examined by a vet and quarantined for 2 weeks.
#3 I don't think you have hay, food, water bottles, veggies there etc. You need all this.
#4 Pet stores don't care about the animals, just your money. Rescue pigs---don't condemn some because you bought them. Please reconsider.

If they're in your bedroom, that's an ok choice, but a family room is really much better. You want it to be in the place where everyone goes most. Keep the heat on, and give them some cozies, maybe some fleece blankets in there.

See the home page, www.guineapigcages.com, for cage sizing. The minimum for two is a 2x4.

yo im getting everything that day when i go to the pet shop i will be pickin up, food, water bottles, veggies and other stuff i will be needed and i will be pickin up some stuff to make the cage too so..yea they will have a cage that night

so...will m & f go together or i need to get same sex so..they dont fight b/c i like to have m & f but im not goin to breed them i just want diff sex ones in the cage
