I need help cat-proofing our piggie cage, as we are getting two cats. Currently we have a 2 x 3 C&C cage which I am expanding to 2 x 4. I have seen pictures of wire shelving used ... is this sturdy enough? Also I see some sort of pipes used for support. I'm figuring PVC pipes, but how are they attached to the bottom of the cage?

I think the best thing to use to creat support would be Fat pvp pipes arouns the edges and one in the middle like a house is built. If you can attach it to the top and zip tie it to your cage you should be fine.Even cut holes to make little hay trofts everywhere ;)

So we don't have to attach it to the bottom of the cage but attach it to the lid instead? Hmmmm ... is there any way to do this without drilling holes? We don't have tools like that :( Maybe the hardware store would drill holes.

I built a constructed cage for my girls, and it's cat-proof. I just used two sheets of strong wire with about 1" spaces. I fixed the first sheet down by tying it to the sides by the holes, and the second sheet is connected to the first one using little rings (like the kind you get in keyrings) so you can lift it up like a giant hinge. Very cat proof, even my fat cat can't get in.

come on people i hear everyone talking about how phat their cages are but i dont see pics :)
