Hello! I asked a question “how long can male guinea pigs be an apart from each other without forgetting each other?” and some of you said they won’t forget each other as long as they’re not apart more than a couple of hours. Well…
I separated them for like 20 minutes to clean their enclosure and it’s like they forgot each other! They’re not as aggressive as they were when I first bonded them (about three weeks ago) but they’re still chasing each other around, humping each other, and I know that is normal. But they started to get a little bit out of hand, (they never were in an attacking ball) but kind of did some weird jump that look like it could’ve been aggressive. I get a lot of Anxiety with bonding, as I have had an “ Oopsies “ you could call. (Two aggressive males attacked each other in the “attacking ball” after I stopped them I tried to take the aggressive one out, but lunged at the other piggy and bit my hand instead, I got 5 stitches and had to rehome the aggressor
) now that you’re caught up Lol
I would just like some advice, I am very experienced with piggies. But after that situation, I lost all confidence in myself About bonding (specifically with males)
I just want to know if I can leave them together tonight, as I will be asleep, and cannot keep an eye on them. I’ll probably be up until 10:30-11:00 so please respond if you see this
(I’m just 12) my mom is very supportive and down to earth about the piggies needs. So if they need something and I can’t afford it she would be happy to
