I'm a fairly long-time lurker, and only recently have I found the courage to join. I am fortunate enough to have two female piggers in my home; Ginny and Missy. I sadly purchased them from a pet store almost two years ago without knowing the implications of my actions. I had wanted a pair of rats, in all honesty, but my parents talked me into guinea pigs, and I fell in love. ❤️

During that time, though, they have lived in a depressingly small pet store cage that is embarrassing, to say the least. I could never talk my parents into getting a bigger cage with their money ("Oh, they're just hamsters. They don't need a big cage"), but I now finally have my own bank account, and of course, all of my money is going towards piggies! :D I'm looking to build them a 4x4 cage with a few additions, and I'm hoping that by that time the two lovely ladies in a shelter near my town will still be up for adoption.

I'm a recent high school graduate (and they say being lazy doesn't get you anywhere), and I'd love to make up for sleeping through twelve years of school by trying to get into vet school. That's just a dream, though, hehe.

At any rate, I'd like to thank this site for helping me realise how I could take better care of my lovely lady pigs! You all have been a great help, and hopefully soon I'll be able to finally build that cage I've been dreaming of! :D

Welcome to the forum! Glad you decided to join.

If you've been a lurker for a long time, then you know we love pigtures around here. Do you have any of your little girls?

Good luck with vet school. We definitely need a few more.

These are the best shots I could get my ladies to pose for. They were too excited about the pepper I had beside me to stay still. :)

This is Missy. She's quite the sassy little Abyssinian, and definitely puts the 'pig' in guinea pig!

And this is Ginny. She is the sweetest little girl you could ask for. She has never even moved to bite anyone - oh no. Why bite when you can lick? She's my little baby. ❤️

[GuineaPigCages.com] Hello!

You have very cute little girls. I love Missy's gray face.

I think they both did a good job posing for their pigtures.

OMG...they are adorable. I totally see the sassiness in Missy's face. They are both so cute. I'm glad that you are finally able to upgrade their cage situtation. They need a good about of space for exercise and privacy. Sometimes you just need to get away from your roommate. lol

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your pics. Here are a couple of my two boys, Spike and Hurley. Spike is the White, Black and Orange and Hurley is..well, the other one. lol
