Hello!
I've just joined and soon I am going to become a cavy owner. :)
I have done all my research for over two weeks now!!
I am getting around 2-3 guinea pigs, and have a great deal of names which I could call them.
However I am going to have trouble with that until I see them. =P
Hopefully I shall be getting them before Christmas.
We're setting up a very big indoor c&c cage like this:

This cage is going to be housing the piggies for winter months, while we are going to provide them without an outdoor hutch for during the summer.

Here are some of the names I am thinking of so far:

Welcome to the forum! You've planned a great looking cage there.

I would like to encourage you to rethink moving them outside in the summer. For one, thing, pigs that are housing inside get noticed a lot more than those outside, which is a good thing for catching illnesses early. Pigs tend to hide illnesses because they're prey animals, and a sharp eye for anything just slightly off will stand you in good stead for getting treatment for them.

Also, in the time I've been reading guinea pig forums, I've seen at least half a dozen news stories, mostly from the UK, where hutches have been broken into and the guinea pigs stolen, or large animals have gotten to them and killed them. They're also exposed to rodent-borne diseases, such as those carried by mice, and to spiders and other insects.

They can't be housed on wire, so cleaning the cage will be no worse than cleaning the hutch. Since you'll have the large cage already built, please consider keeping them inside all the time.

Welcome. Glad to see you are preparing ahead of time. The names you have listed are very cute. My Daughter has a guinea named Jasper also. Love the cage lay out, looks very nice!

Welcome! Your cage looks huge:cheerful:, that's awesome! Love all the names, good luck chosing one(or three)!

Thanks for the information. :)
I will try and see if it is possible to keep them in during the summer too.
