Hey guys,
I'm new, and thought I should introduce myself and my piggies.
I brought home my two little boar bothers just over a week ago, Sonic & Robba (My six year old sister helped me name them, how cute). I'm unsure of their exact ages, but by looking at them they seem to be between 8 - 12 weeks.
Now I did buy these two gorgeous boys from the pet store, I would have preferred to adopt and know I really should have, but unfortunately there weren't any piggies at my local RSPCA  However am so glad I got the little piggies I did because I'm just in love with them!!
My boys live outside (we live in Southern Eastern Queensland, Australia), but undercover away from wind and elements of the weather, and with between 6 people living in the house (our houses are all combined but separated into separate houses inside, with all front doors meeting were my piggies live) they are loving the attention they receive! From morning to night there's usually at least one person outside to talk and play with them.
I bring my boys in for at least 2 - 3 hours a day to have inside time, but as soon as I put them to back to bed outside they start purring and popcorning away (SO CUTE!!)
Their cage is very secure, made from hardwood with a solid removable bottom for cleaning, a wire mesh side for them to talk to us and an enclosed hardwood home with their bedding to keep nice and warm for nights The cage has a roof which lifts off to get your guinea's out. They both seem very happy with their living arrangements, however I am looking into bringing their cage inside and extending it with C&C caging for a run in the lounge room for winter. Although our winters don't get too cold, and their undercover I'd still feel much happier with them inside
The two boys can also be very demanding for my attention, although they love the attention from my dad, mum, boyfriend, sisters, nephews and nieces, as soon as they hear my voice they squeak and squeak until I say hello to them, adorable!
I will post photo's of Sonic & Robba shortly
Anyway, that's about it for now
