Hello from California

Hello there! My family and I are first time guinea pig owners. We love animals and have many others. A dog, cat, fish, chickens and homing pigeons. It was our 7 1/2 year old daughter who has been asking for a guinea pig for over a year now who led us down this path. Can I just say I'm glad she did. We are the proud owners of not just one but three beautiful female cavies. They are such a delight! I've been spending quite a bit of time on this forum and have been learning lots. Thanks for all the wonderful information.

my 7 year old had also been bugging me for a while for guinea pigs too.. it wasn't until I found this forum and started doing my research that I fell in love with them and agreed took her some time to save up the money but we are welcoming our 1st girl this weekend (her buddy is coming to us after new years)
I bet your daughter is super happy

I love to see ideas too. It's been a lot of fun decorating their cage and I really like the setup.

Thank you. I've been following your thread. Unfortunately I saw after we got our girls. What a great idea you had! Yes, my daughter is super happy. She want to hold them all the time. Congratulations on being able to pick up your girl this weekend. Is the little girl your getting an Abyssinian?

The mother is and the little one looks like it too but they think the father was a peruvian (she was missexed and put in a cage with a male aby and male peruvian) one of the brothers has long hair
so we think shes a mix going to be interesting to see how her hair grows but so far shes looking like a normal abyssinian

Welcome to the forum! Guinea pigs really are a delight. I just wanted to say, I absolutely love your cage! The all black looks so sleek and modern. Your girls have a ton of running room in there too. I also love the fleece print!
