Hello, thought I would drop in and say hello. I donlt have any guinea pigs yet, but hope to adopt a couple soon. In the mean time for the past couple monthes I have been finding out as much info as I can about their care. Anyway this site has been a great resource for me and I am sure it will be in the future.

Welcome on the forum!

It's great that you do research before you adopt them! Many don't with myself included and made horrible mistakes by doing so.

Have a good read of the diet and nutrition forum as well as the following website:

Guinea Lynx :: A Medical and Care Guide for Your Guinea Pig

Keep us updated on the progress!

Well I was thinking of girls, since right now I probably only have the space for a 2x3 or maybe a 3x3. The only two rooms we can keep the temperature at a good steady rate are the bedroom and computer room. The bedroom I donlt think is a good idea cause well that is where we sleep and I know the last thing my husband needs when his alarm goes off at 6am is piggies running around squeaking and playing half the night. But since we have spent a ton of money in the last couple monthes..we are going to postpone getting them for awhile..so I might be able to find the means to get my husband to not only build them a bigger cage but more importantly..the space to build it! I also need to study the exact measurments of both the 2x3 and 2x4 though just to make sure a 4x2 couldn;t be squeezed into the computer room. But I got plenty of time now to worry about all that.

Welcome to the forum Calliso. It's very refreshing to see someone who is not only willing to admit mistakes from the past, but will also do research before adopting more animals now. Good for you! You may also find this thread for newbies particularly helpful.
