Can I grow my own Timothy Hay from seeds? I have found several places that sell Timothy Hay seeds and was curious if I could do it myself...... I know I CAN do it myself, because they sell seeds. But, would it be OK TO do it?

Also, if I can, how should I go about doing it? I.E When to plant, when to harvest, how to care for.......?

Thanks!

It would take a lot of land, time, and effort. Not to mention a very good green thumb. Your hay can go bad or fail to be very useful. I recommend you just buy your own.

Too much effort for too little reward. You could grow a little timothy grass in your yard to supplement what they get, but planting, drying and harvesting enough hay for your guinea pigs would take way more time and effort than I'm willing to expend.

what about your own veggies i thought about trying
