My piggie Moo looks adult size, so I am assumming he is 6 months to 1 year old. I have been feeding him constant timothy hay since I got him a few months ago, but my mom bought him some alfalfa when she visited me the other day (I still have plenty of timothy hay).

What's the deal with alfalfa? I heard it was for younger guineas, but would it be that terrible to give it to Moo occasionally?

You can give like, a handfull, maybe once or twice a month. But if it is not Oxbow, I wouldn't feed it. What brand is it?

I forgot to mention they are alfalfa cubes ... the brand is Rainbow.

I am possibly getting a baby boar in a couple of months, should I save them for him?

My pigs completely ignore any type of cubes I put in with them, whether they're alfalfa or timothy... anyone else have this problem? I've given up on trying to give them to the pigs.

You can put the cubes in when you get the baby. When you get him, feed a 50/50 mixture of alfalfa/timothy until the baby is 6 months old. then switch to just timothy. Alfalfa bales run about $7.00-$10.00
