There are going to be hay shortages in Australia. The drought has caused a huge demand for hay from farmers in the eastern states, combined with a very dry season across most of australia and we are heading towards large hay shortages.
My local fodder store (South Australia) has already been having difficulties getting hay and they don't know if their next lot of hay could be the last until next harvest (end of october). They have already had to double the price of their hay to keep up with the surging price from the farmers. They aren't even sure if their suppliers will even be able to supply them come harvest and into next year.
I have stocked up on a few bails, hopefully it will be enough.
