I have three guinea pigs and I put loads of straw in for thier bedding, but in about ten minutes they have flattened it down. Is this because they just dont like it or because that is what they do? If it is because they dont like it what shall I do?

Straw is a big no-no since it pokes them in the eye easily You can use fleece or towels as a bedding. They are easy to clean and there is no mess. Alternatively, you can try loose bedding i.e. Aspen or careFresh (a bit pricey)

What do you mean fleece or towles?

Fleece is a fabric that you can get at any fabric store or other places like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. You should know what towels are. Straw is not good for pigs like Piglet said, it can poke them in the eye and cause injuries. Pigs need grass hay to eat not straw. You can use other things for bedding too like kiln-dried pine, aspen, carefresh, just to name some.

So what you do is get rid of the straw and find something safer to bed them on.
