Question!
My local feed store has FINALLY gotton Oxbow hay- yay!! I'm so happy. But it's SOO expensive! For a little thing it's nea $4.00! Ouch! It looks soo soft though, When I get $10 I'm going up to get two bags and put them in hay racks. Well, my question is- they have straw hay, Alfalfa or Timothy(Can't remember), and this type of rabbit type of hay, has rabbit in the title but has all these diff animals in the back. Are these ok, besides the alfalfa and timothy?
Also, is Hay Kob ok? It looks sort of fresh- not near as fresh as oxbow, but fresh. Fresher than Kaytee, that's for sure! Does anyone know if Hay Kob's ok? And what about Mazuri food? I was stupid and let(Not saying anything, didn't want to embarass my mom's friend or the store owner) my mom's friend(who recently just adopted out two of my pigs) buy a bag of it! I gave her a little manual, and hopefully she reads that Mazuri part being bad and going to get a 50 lb bag of the pellets I get. Is that ok for the time being though?
Thanks

Just found the real titles on the bags: it is Bunny Brome(Is this just for rabbits?), Oat Hay(is this ok?), and Orchard Grass. Sorry, I thought it was alfalfa hay or timothy, but I just went to the site(silly me, didn't think of looking there while I was typing this thread!) and saw the exact bags.

Hay Kob is crap. Ever since switching to Oxbow and Kleenmama's, my pigs turn their noses up at Hay Kob. Pigs are little furry gourmets.

Order by the box and save some serious dough. Your pigs will love KM's bluegrass.

Here in Ohio, Kaytee is much fresher then any Hay Kob.

I was told that scent-free pine, such as Aspen which I have been using, is ok for bedding because it has no oils. Anybody have any insight into this topic from personal experience? Thanks, Buttercup and Casper.

Is the feed store hay no good?

Mine is. It's not so totally soft, but pretty soft. I can't order from the internet, my mom won't allow it- unless we won the lottery or something:). Ok, I'll tell my mom's friend that Hay Kob isn't good. Thanks!

Can anybody tell me about the bunny brome, oat hay, and the orchard grass? Can these be substitued for Timothy hay?

Also, does Oxbow charge shipping and handling? I was near buying stuff, but I couldn't figure out if they charged s&h?

Yes, they do Ruby. Yes, all of the above can be substituted for timmy. I love kms hay.
