I know the 4th isn't until Monday, but thought I would go ahead and wish everyone in the U.S.A. a happy holiday. I know here in town, there are festivities going on all weekend. They are cancelling the fireworks because we are under a burn ban due to major lack of rain. If we don't get major rain between now and Monday, no fireworks. The police department is also discouraging shooting off any fireworks at home too because of the burn ban. Maybe someone can send rain my way???

We are having a good size parade on Saturday here in town too. I get to be Lady Liberty (Statue of Liberty) in the parade. Not sure if I am looking forward to that or not.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!

You too! The park that's two blocks away from my house always has a huge display of fireworks, and field days prior. It's always a lot of fun to watch! We're also celebrating my birthday that day (my birthday is the 18th), so I get presents too! I hope some rain finds its way to you, Ly! Have fun in the parade, and Happy Fourth! ^_^

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Ly! You had BETTER post a picture of you as Lady Liberty. THAT I HAVE to see!

Our fireworks are a go. Since New Orleans is so humid and wet nothing ever stops the fireworks. Except the time the barge that was carrying the fireworks caught fire and exploded 4 years ago...but we just considered that one BIG firework.

I keep telling everyone that Lady Liberty is going to be rather chubby this year!!! I will see about getting a picture of that for you voodoo. I haven't seen the costume yet either. I hope I can fit my chubby self into it.

Last year, there was a big fireworks display by the park near our house, so we were able to watch it from our home. I guess I should break out those patriotic dog collars for the weekend.

Happy 4th!

Sometimes I wonder if I really like the 4th. The dogs hate fireworks. They bark all night long.

I know lindsey me too. My family invites all these people over and all we do is eat, eat, eat, and lock all our animals up. My dog goes berserk with all the people. Then we go and watch the fireworks, but I stay home because the animals HATE it. My poor doggy, and the piggies too. They hide in their pigloos and wheek all night. The cats don't seem to mind, but they don't mind anything really!

Fireworks aren't allowed where we live... If you go further out they are, but my piggies are SAFE! Hehe...

I don't really care for the 4th of July, but it is fun if you have the right "stuff". So, happy 4th of July!

That's great that you stay with the animals.

Can you believe it? In PA, anything explosive is illegal. That means nothing good and everything has to be wimpy :p Have a good time with your big fireworks :) Happy forth!

Yes, it makes them feel safer I suppose. I don't really like going to the park anyways. There are too many people. I guess, really, that I simply do not like people. I know it's bizarre, but true. I'd much rather have animals as companions. They're much more honest and loving than people.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ly, wish I could send some rain your way. Yesterday afternoon in the middle of our golf round we had an hour of rain to wait out and then last night around 11pm it started raining and rained for about 3-4 hours. But, my grass still is browner than the piggers hay.

Luv, you just have to go to the right place to get them. Just be careful crossing the state line when you bring them back. But you're right. Everything is illegal here if it leaves the ground. Not very exciting if it just spins on the ground and throw a few sparks and whistles.

That's weird guys. I live in NY, and that stuff's illegal too, unless you have a permit. You can't buy anything like that here, either. But we can cross over into PA and buy fireworks, bring them back, and set them off. That's weird. o_o

Here I either go to the park and go dancing (concert all night long) and watch fireworks, or go to the neighbors. This year I will probably just stay home with the piggies or play with sparklers or something... ah.

LMP, explosives are illegal in most states. Sparklers, Smoke & Punks, Fountains, Novelties, Crackling & Strobings, and Wheels & Spinners are allowed.

Ly, I am sending you some rain!

Happy 4th of July to those in the USA, happy 1st of July to those in Canada. Wish we had more to look forward to in July here... I live 8 miles from the setting for the G8 summit - roll on the fun and games!

Ly, I wish you could have our rain. We've had so-o-o-o-o much rain here that our lawn rarely dries out. I have only had to water the garden once. We are suppose to get more storms tomorrow night and on Sunday, but the 4th may be ok. Yay! We always take the kids to the carnival during the day on the 4th, even if there is a howling cold wind off Lake Superior. However due to the expected rain this weekend, and the fact that my husband works the evening of the 4th, we are going to have our cookout tonight as well as light off some small fireworks. Can't wait!

Happy 4th weekend to all!

We had some severe thunderstorms roll into town between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. this morning. There is a chance for more today. I don't know if we got enough rain for them to hold the fireworks display or not. I didn't like the storms but we got some much needed rain. It's been so dry here lately and the crops have been crappy because of lack of rain.

Everyone have a happy and SAFE 4th of July!

AZ is also in a great need of rain. It is very dry here and very hot. There is always a bann on fireworks for those other than the city, or big organizations around town. There are fireworks all around town on Fri, Sat, Sun and Monday nights. There are parties and things to do all over. My family goes to the ballpark for a baseball game and fire works afterwards. It takes place on Sunday this year.
I work the actual 4th and there is a picnic potluck. Food, food and more food. Everyone enjoy and have a wonderful time no matter what you and your families do.
