Covers Hanging Hammock and C & C Cages

Hi there,

I have a one-year old guinea pig named Oliver and I have been looking for a new cage for him. He currently is in one of those smaller cages you can buy from a pet store but I know it is just too small for him! However, he has a hanging hammock in his cage that he absolutely loves! I am worried that if I do the C & C cage that I will not be able to hang his hammock up because it will not be strong enough. Any advice as to if I can do a C & C cage and hang the hammock as well? Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you look at some of the C&C cages here on the site some of them do have tops. You really can build a cage with a to on the section you want the hammock to hang, so don't sweat it. It can be done.

You can add a couple of wooden I-beams that span the width of the cage that rest on the openings of the grids. Tie the top of the hammock to them.
