Sumdgee has like a patch of skin behind his ear with no skin pigment, would it be safe to dab on a little bit of sunscreen?

I would say no. When they are outside it should be in a shady area (as well as 100% supervised) and sunscreen should not be needed.

All cavies have the bald patch behind their ears. I would say if his pigment is that fair, then I would not have him in direct sunlight.

I agree with SLap, I don't think it would be a good idea to put Sunscreen on. It may also get all over the coat and that would be a mess.

Smudgee is always 110% supervised, I either sit in the cage with him, cuase it's sooo big, or I sit oudside of it. He doesn't run around or do popcorn like normal guinea pigs so I sit with him, and pet him when he hides under my legs. I think he's really lonely, so I'm looking into getting another little pigger.

I would not use sunscreen because he will probably ingest it. Guinea pigs groom themselves and can reach behind their ears. There are many dangerous chemicals in sunscreen. The guinea pig should not be outside in direct sunlight long enough to be sunburnt.

Good luck.

Is thier animal safe sunscreen? Surely they must make it for hairless cats and such.
