Guinea Pigs Fighting

I adopted two male guinea pigs a couple of weeks ago. Rocky is about 1 year old and Malik is about 5 months old. They constantly fight. Is this normal? How long does it take for them to get use to each other? They were adopted at the same time and supposedly came from the same owner. The other night the fighting got so bad, one was bleeding.

Separate them immediately. Although males can live together happily, they can also fight to the death. Put them in separate cages near each other so that they can still smell/hear/see each other. Maybe eventually they will get used to each other and be able to be put back together, I don't know. (Maybe someone else with more experience with males would know better, I've almost always had females.) But for now, I would definately separate them.

u can separate them 1st. let them together while during floor time. when u c the situation getting better, only let them try staying in same cage again.

How big is their cage? A lot of the time when boars argue, it's because they don't have sufficient space to be able to get away from each other when they need to. So tension builds up and up, when in a bigger cage, they'd have just have had some time away from each other and been fine. If you find they get along during floortime, this may well be the issue and can easily be solved by building a bigger cage https://www.guineapigcages.com.

It's a store bought cage. I can not remember the measurements. I'm in the process of gathering materials to build a cage but I cannot find the coroplast.

But even when I have them down for floor time, Rocky ( 1 yr old) purposely pursues Malik (5 mos old) to start a fight.

Maybe Rocko is more sexually matured then your other one.Maybe even at 5 months hes just starting to feel sexual feelings and figures out hes got a BEEEP lol. i have 8 pigs and all of them hump except one.Pj he never humps and neer rumblestruts either.I guess some pigs are just assholes maybe.
