Won't Eat Guinea pig will ONLY eat lettuce

Hello, I have a guinea pig and before I would feed it some lettuce here and there but I wanted to give them some extra stuff so I started to use this for a bag but he would eat everything but the pellet. So then I switched back of to just pellet food and stopped giving him lettuce so he would eat the pellet and hey. That was about a week ago. He has not eaten anything, at all. I would refill his bowl of food and hay everyday with fresh water and he wouldn't do anything. He didn't eat at all. So today I noticed that he has been in the same spot of the cage and so I was worried that he was really sick so I gave him some lettuce again and he chowed down on it. That's the ONLY thing he will eat. any help to get him to eat pellets and hay?

He is probably sick. Might be a URI. So I would take him to the vet. ASAP If he is not drinking water he will get dehydrated. Try giving him some cucumber for now. That has high water content. And most guinea pigs enjoy it. Also, switch the kibble you are using. The first ingredient is soybean husks. That is very bad for guinea pigs. It might be his teeth. I think I'd get him to the vet to be checked. He might be having trouble chewing.

He won't let me check. But he does try to eat my finger though.

Definitely get him to an exotic vet (I'd call to make sure they have experience with guinea pigs) ASAP.

If there was a problem with his teeth, you wouldn't be able to see it because most tooth problems occur in the molars, which you can't see without proper equipment.
