Guinea Pig Pellets

Hi my guinea pig is about six months old and I bought her these pellets. I wanted to know what you all thought about them.

Natureboy's Guinea Pig Pellets Health Food with Ascorbic Acid (vit C)

INgredients: Alfalfa Meal, Ground Barley, Ground Corn, Soybean Meal, Salt, Dicaliumphosphate, Bentonite, Vitamin A, Acetate, Deactivated Serol, Alphatocopheryl, Thiamin HCL, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Vitamin B12, Chline Chloride, Folic Acid, Manganese Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Oxide, Cobalt Carbonate Peridoxine HCL, Ascobic Acid.

You really want to stay away from any pellets that have ground corn in them. That food isn't that good for piggies because of the corn.

why is corn bad? I've been trying to find information on that but I haven't found any yet.

Corn products (including corn bran, corn germ, corn gluten, ground corn, etc. There is no legal definition of "corn" alone in animal feed, so it may be any combination of products. Corn is not a normal feed for cavies, may contribute to allergies, and can be high in fat and certain sugars/starch depending on the product.)

Giving fresh corn on the cob including the husks and silk is fine for piggies every now and again. I give my girls one corn cob a week broken in half and all 4 of my girls have to share that.
