Guinea pig urine does have a certain odor, and it is yellow or orange in color

Actually, normal guinea pig urine has almost no odor, except when it's on hay for a while. Peed-on hay is really awful!

The color is usually whitish.

If the pig's urine has a noticeable odor when it's fresh, it usually indicates a bladder infection, and a vet visit is in order.

Is your pig a male? If so, are you sure it's not "boar stank" you're smelling?

I always assumed that when I hadn't cleaned their cage for a while what I was smelling that didn't smell good was pee is it not?

It's probably a combination of poop and pee, but it's bacterial action of sitting there for a while that causes the odor. I have a large cage (16 square feet) for two pigs that I thoroughly clean once a week, and as long as I keep the wet hay picked up, there's no odor at all.

It rarely smells only when cage cleaning is over due so I don't think there is an issue
