General Guinea Pig Food Ceremony?

During the morning "feeding time" (my morning routine is: clean cage, add daily hay and pellets, and give Leo his morning veggies), my guinea pig does this little ceremony where he runs all the way around the edge of his cage, runs into his pigloo, runs out of his pigloo, jumps into his cozy and runs in circles while having a seizure, jumps out of his cozy, and then goes up to me demanding his morning veggies. If I don't give him his veggies within a few minutes, he repeats. Do y'alls piggies have littles dances and ceremonies in their routines? It's so cool how you get to see a little personality form in your piggy after he's settled in, isn't it ❤️?

PS: I was wondering if 3rd cut Timothy hay is actually better for your piggy than 1st or 2nd cut ( I know that he likes the 3rd cut best, but if I've learned anything from keeping piggies, it's that "it tastes good" doesn't mean "it's healthy")

My pigs pretty much stand against the side of the cage and squeal at me until I deliver.

I don't find 1st cut to be very good for guinea pigs. I like 2nd cut because it has stems, and leaf. So plenty of fiber, and the tasty stuff as well. You can feed 1st, or 2nd cut. Whichever you prefer, really. I wouldn't call one better than the other. They both have upsides.

my pigs just watch me.

Fuery get really excited and wheeks really loudly. just got Lumpy today so i'll have to wait and see.

and 3rd cut hay is the best you can buy...it the softest and most green with very little or no salks and most likely more nutrious and piggies...or atleast ming love it!

Our mornings are normally pretty chaotic so the guineas don't always get their food at the same time but the evening routine is standard. The kids get ready for bed, we do stories and sing bedtime songs then I come into the kitchen and turn on the radio to Mark Levin and the guinea pigs go crazy as soon as they hear his voice. They start running to the front of the cage wheeking and squeaking, then I open the fridge door and they stand on the side of the coroplast wheeking, then I cut the veggies up and they pace back and forth at the front of the cage still squeaking and wheeking. By the time I get the guinea pigs out for floor time/dinner they are worked up and ready just to chow down. They eat all their veggies then explore their space before finally settling down to a little hay and a nap. Same thing every night and it's one of my evening highlights. =D
