I did the thing VJ said to do, and it got trapped outside of the deck but when i went to grab it i let go of the thing shutting off the deck, and it just rain back in :(
I'm assuming that the GP went into the tube but you somehow left the end unblocked (or removed the block at the end) and the GP ran back out again.

Try again. This time make certain both ends remain blocked so the GP cannot get out. If you have no one to help you carry the tube into the house you will either need the have a cage or other containment outside with you so you can place one end into the cage, unblock it and allow the GP to go into the cage OR you can gently pick up both ends of the tube yourself (creating a "U" shape) and carry it into the house. The GP should gently slide into the middle and be safe as you carry it.

I most recommend trying the get the GP out of the tube while you are inside the house. That way, if it gets past you, it is in the house and not back under the deck.

If you meant that the GP got out past the tube and was in the yard and the tube was blocking the main hole then maybe you should bring some grids or even large, hard backed books with you and use them to block off any other openings under the deck. If the GP is in the yard quietly and calmly cover all of the holes under the deck then place a cardboard box or two in the yard to encourge the GP to run into someplace sheltered other then under the deck.

Good luck! I'm glad you're taking the advice of one of the moderators. I also think you are trying to do what you can. Just calling the RSPCA twice is to be commended - although I'm not sure how they'd get the pig out without damaging the deck.

There are a lot of people condemning you for what has already happened. I hope everyone will continue to focus on your efforts to save the guinea pig, and not pick apart the pronouns or previous actions. Once the guinea pig is captured, alive and well - that would probably be the appropriate time for you to read through the info here on some of the issues people have mentioned.

I think you did the right thing by posting for help - who would've come up with Voodoo's creative idea that sounds like it's close to working! That's one of the reasons this forum is good for so many different people - the help that can be given so quickly. And I'm sure this will be a lesson learned in many many ways - and it may even help others who might make the same mistakes not knowing any better.

So.... keep up the good work and keep us updated - I want to see a picture of that piggie back in her cage ASAP!

Once the pig is safe and sound, I do hope you read as much as you can on this site about some of the things people mentioned. The last thing I want to see is you scared away because of some very passionate people who love guinea pigs!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, me and dad were out there for 4 1/2 hours with a laundry basket and the tube thing that VJ suggested. Firstly that didn't work so we hung the basket up over this thing dad built at work and when it came out i pushed the laundry basket over the piggy and it was caught! Then we slid cardboard under it and flipped the basket over!

:) :) :) SO HAPPY I COULD DIE!!!! .

Now....
I gave it a bath with guinea pig shampoo and it's all clean and dry now, but since it's been out there for nearly a week, should I take it to the vet or something to get it checked for ya know, disease or something. Cause it was raining most of last week.

WHOOOO! That was very unexpected, but nice that your dad finally decided to help you! I kept checking back wondering what would happen, and I'm very happy you got him out.

As for the vet check, it would be a good idea. Not because I think he has a disease, but because he could be sick. As you said, a week in the rain, wouldn't you be sick? Tell the vet what happened, so he/she can check your pig for everything and anything.

I really hope you guys learned your lesson. Don't let this happen again.

Thanks for the advice. Won't happen again xD

As for everyone else
It's currently living in a cardboard box with a laundry basket firmly attached to the top, so it can breath and stuff but it won't get out. It's living next to it's friend and they're talking REALLY loudly to each other. It's kinda annoying me.

I've placed some pellets in and some hay, his veges will wait till later when i feed Fluffy.

Hi gagaluver,
If you do decide to take your guinea pig to the vet, or decide to neuter your male (you have a male and female piggie, I think?), you'll need to take them to an exotics vet.
Here is a link to the Australian Cavy Sanctuary's recommended vet list: Australian Cavy Sanctuary
There are quite a few in Queensland, so hopefully there will be one near you.

There's a vet near me that has a specialist vet in this month, specializing in guinea pigs :)
