I have flys mating in py Guinea pigs cage. I made a mixture of lemon and citronella bug spray, lavender, and a cup of boiling water. This was said to prevent flys. I sprayed it on the bars to the pigs cage. Will it hurt my pig?

It probably won't hurt either the pigs or the flies.

You need to keep the food and the poop picked up out of the cage. And you may have to resort to something like fly strips over the cage, or a bug zapper.

Well the flys are gone if I keep up with spraying the cage. So the mix works, but my pig does not like it. I don't know if he is going to be harmed. Are you profesional?

Well, I'm no professional, but I'm just gonna suggest some alternatives.

1) Spot clean the cage daily and clean out the whole cage weekly. If you have a herd instead of a pair, you might have to spot clean more than once a daily. Just try to keep it as clean and as smell-free as possible.
2) Maybe move the cage?
3) Close windows and other things and try to prevent flies from getting in
4) Keep things that attract flies away from the cage (eg. garbage cans or green bins)
5) Use the things bpatters recommended
