Hi! This is my first post here, I’ve lurked a lot but never figured out how to make a thread (post?) until today. On to the problem, my Guinea pig has been bloated and gassy for around ~20 hours, and I’ve been syringe feeding her Critical Care and water. So far, she’s barely peed and any poop shes made is really dry (which is understandable since she hasn’t been drinking water on her own.) Her stomach is also making a lot of gurgling noises.
I’ve called around to all the vets in my area and they’re all either fully booked, out of town and don’t take Guinea pigs.
Was wondering if I can get any advice to help her pass stool easier, or if no progress so far is normal.
Thank you in advance, and please let me know if I’ve done the thread wrong!

If you can get your hands on some simethicone infant gas drops that would be ideal.

Also get a vibrating tooth brush, pillow, or similar object and sit with it on her stomach area for as long as she will tolerate (probably a max of 20-30 mins at a time if she doesn't mind it), as frequently as you reasonably can. The vibrations/massaging really helps pass the gas and get everything moving along. Failing that you could try massaging her by hand, this thread over a guinea lynx has some basic tips for this https://www.guinealynx.info/records/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=117.

Those tips will help with mild to moderate gas issues, but not true bloat or GI stasis.

She’s started to pass stool again after massaging her! Sadly it was late so I couldn’t go get simethicone, but she seems to be munching on grass and drinking water now after getting the gas out of her system.
Thank you very much!
