Okay, so my family and I have had our female Abyssinian, Oreo, for a year and two months. She was very sweet and active, but now, for some reason, when I go to pet her, she flinches and bites me. We just got her a new and improved deluxe cage, and she really like it right now, but I don't understand why she's acting hostile towards my family. Please help!!

I'd suggest treating her for mites. They're microscopic and can't be seen with the naked eye, but they burrow into the skin and make pigs mighty cranky.

You can treat her yourself with ivermectin. This is the easiest stuff to use: http://www.amazon.com/Ivermectin-Pour--Cattle-250-mL/dp/B00JAL3AAW/ref=sr_1_7. You'll also need a scale to accurately weigh the pig. If you decide to do it, post back here after you get the ivermectin and we'll help you with dosage.

FYI, she's not "hostile." When a guinea pig shows unexpected, unfriendly behavior, there's something wrong.
