Okay I am having a little argument with my husband. He always calls my piggies rats, I keep telling him they are not even in the rodent family. But he dose not quiet believe me. Am I right? They are not rodents right. They are like in there own little catagory with those things that look like giant gp's (capybaya) (sp?). Can someone back me up please............

I dont think they are rodents

Sorry, but they definitely are rodents. There's a little bit of a scientific controversy about it, but the case is rather weak and has not been accepted by the scientific community. They are in the Rodent family.

From what I understand, the constantly growing teeth define them as a rodent.

Yes they're rodents and yes, all rodents have constantly growing teeth

Rodents have a single pair of incisors in each jaw, and the incisors grow continually throughout life.
