I don't think my guinea pigs like me, or each other for that matter. They don't sit together, i had to buy them one plastic castle each because they wouldn't sit in one together. They rarely fight, and if they do it's only a glare and the very occasional nip, though they do wee at each other - they actually aim it.

They don't like being picked up, they run away and hide. They run away when i try and pet them i the cage, and when they do sit still i'm worried that it's just because their scared, it's the same with when i pick them up and put them in my lap, i think they just sit there because they're scared.

I've had lots of piggers in the past, but they were outside so i have't had the experience of spending so much time with them. My two girls live in a 2x4 cage with a 1x2 upstairs in my bedroom and have for 3 months now, but still panic and run whenever i move even a little. They've had a bout of mange recently, but we went to the vets and got that sorted, so they're healthy.

Is there anything i can do to tame them or have i ust ended up with a pair of grumps?

Spend lots and lots of time with them... individually so they can show you they're own personality and they may play with eachother at night you may not see everything they do.

There is a small problem of not ebing able to tell them apart. I know it's awful and when i see them acting together i know who is who, but otherwise they are identical. Also how do i know if they're happy and sitting quietly or terrified and sitting stock still?

generally if there eyes are closed or slitted they are happy. If they arent squealing loudly theyre probably happy. Also, you can fell their body relax, they tend to stretch out.

Laura, do they ever make their happy noise, when like vibrate a bit??

The key is too spend as much time with them as you can~~!

They don't seem to relax and they keep thier eyes quite wide - which i why i think they're scared though Pax stays scared for a while then just tries to bite me.
