Please use proper punctuation, capitalization and spelling when posting. It was hard to read your post because everything runs together. I am telling you this because you are new here.

About your problem. Use some of the grids your trying to sell and make him an indoor cage. Do you have more than this one boar? He may be lonely and that is why he is depressed. I am glad you brought him in from the cold as he could get sick or die if left exposed to the cold and/or harsh elements. If he is the only pig you have, you may want to consider getting him a younger same sex buddy or a spayed female for companionship. Pigs are very social animals and do much better with a buddy. Check out any local shelters/rescues in your area.

The problem with housing him in a box is that the cardboard will get wet and nasty after a few days and will have to be replaced. And he is stuck down inside with no way to see out. Pigs also love to see and interact with their surroundings.

I dont think i will be able to get him a mate because when he was younger he had 2 other brothers, they got ill and died. I took them to the vet he said they had been fighting with each other and it was down to stress. The Vet gave them an injection but it diden't work they died 2 days later. I was really upset. He is 6 years old now so he is geting on, i don't think he will accept a mate. I had him out in a large 4ft Hutch outside, but am now thinking of making a c&c cage.

The box i have him in at the moment has a lining of plastic in and he has newspaper layed down and hay ontop.

Thankyou for helping Melanie

Do you also sell these grid to people in the us? If so, What would price and shipping be? Thanks

no sorry UK only

Since you piggy is up in years and his demeanor has changed maybe its time for a vet checkup. When is the last time a vet has seen him?

When boys are younger they go through puberty and if they are with their brothers they might strart fighting. You could get him a girlfriend if you are worried about getting him a baby boy. Just make sure she is spayed if your boar is not nuetered.

I think he is a bit old for other guniea pigs he has been on his own all his life so i dont think he would like the company.
And as for the vet he has never got any thing wrong with him neither has any of my other guniea pigs accept for his brothers which started fighting. i have had gunieas live till 9 years old before.
I clean them out twice a week some times more and they have fresh water and vegtables every day. I have also kept them on hay and paper NO sawdust, as i feel sawdust can get into there lungs i had been advised by this from an early age, he doesen't have straw he is kept on hay in his sleeping area and main apartment,
and when the weather gets cold i have him under shelter were it is warm sometimes indoors.
He loves his grass and in the summer i have him in a run, you dont have to buy one of those runs which costs loads with a shelter on them from the sun just pace 2 towls to shelter them and make sure they have fresh water.

Hope this will help anyone who wants to no more about keeping a healthy guniea pig im not an expert but really its not that hard
Thanks Melanie
