I got woken up around 5am this morning by one of my girls chirping. It went on for several minutes until my boyfriend told me to get it on video.
Sorry for the black video but I didn't want to turn the light on and startle her!
This means I have two chirpers! It is a bit faint but you can hear her chirping her little heart out! Sounds just like a bird![video=youtube;A89dEyJsBco]

I love it! I think all but one of mine that have chirped have done so when it's dark or dim. I had one that would chirp all the time. She sounded more like a canary. A lot of different scales. That's the one I regret not videotaping.

Mine just seem to chirp in that one steady tone. Just non stop chirping. :) I love it. But they only do it while it's dark out.

One of my girls just made that same sound. I was in the other room, and thought it was a noise from the video game my hubby was playing. He then asked where the noise was coming from and it stopped when he spoke. We realized it was one of the piggies. Glad to know that I don't need to be alarmed about the noise!

So cute! When I played the clip, one of my girls came running trying to find out who was making the noise. Funnier still, my one girl who chirps just like that, didn't pay any attention to the clip at all. Just when you think you've got them figured out!!

The Story (Watch before reading further please.)

Gus Chirped - He&(broken link removed)s been a very VERY naughty piggie. - YouTube

Note: For those of you who don't know PiggyPigPigs, Gus was separated from the trio because they fought. At the time of this video, she was hunting for a buddy for him. He's now happily paired.

The Question

Is chirping necessarily a good/bad thing? Is it a way of showing extreme emotion?

Because of Laura's experience, if I woke up one morning to hear my piggies chirping like birds, I'd be concerned. :?:

Bumping this. I'd like to know if any one knows why piggies chirp and what, if any thing, should be done about it. Concerns in post above. Thanks!
