Hi, I'm new here. Can anyone recommend a good water bottle?

I'm on my second one and I can't seem to get anything that doesn't drip water out of the nozzle all day - soaking the cage. The one I have now is a big one from walmart, and the one I had before was from a pet store and both leak like crazy.
Much appreciated!

Hi, and welcome! I use Lixit Glass Bottles in the 16 oz. size and I really love them. I use them both for my chinnies and guineas because they can't chew through them and the glass is easy to sanitize (you can put them through the dishwasher). They will also last you forever, unlike plastic bottles which get worn out eventually and leak.

I order mine from Country Boy Cages, it's the LBG16 (16 oz. glass bottle with spring) for $4.75 a piece. You can find these bottles in petstores as well, but you'll pay twice that much.

Another option is the Edstrom Water Buddy, which has a positive closing valve to prevent leaks and dripping. They are much more expensive though and I've not tried them myself, though I've heard many good things: https://www.agselect.com/ED/showdetl.cfm?&DID=11&Product_ID=998&CATID=12

My advice is to not use the bottles from Walmart. I have had terrible luck with those. My favorite are these: (broken link removed)

I have two bottles in my cage for my 5 girls, one is just a regular cylinder and it tends to leak and the other is a flat back. The flatback has a spring loadded stopper so it doesnt leak and it works wonderfully. About 7 bucks for the larger one and even has a little rubber ducky inside to show the water level. I like it so much I'm going to get another one. It stays tight to the cage so its always perfectly upright which is great for cavy cages. As far as I know they come in 4, 16, and 32 oz sizes. They hold a vacumn really well.
Here is a link that has the 32 oz on sale for 4.50 $

Thank you all so much! I will look into each of these!

Also, a lot of us place a brick under the spout of the water bottle. Not only does it absorb the drips but it files down piggy nails.
