Hello,

Since the weather is getting nicer, I'm looking for a sort of run for my guinea pigs so that they can go outside on the nice days. Of course I will be watching them the whole time. :) We have two guinea pigs at the moment, but the herd is going to grow, so it has to be something that is either large enough to fit...oh about 6 guinea pigs, or can be expanded as more family members come. It also needs to be fairly cheep. I don't really have a bunch of money to throw around at the moment. xD And last but not least, I don't own and power tools, nor am I confident enough to use them with out hurting myself and anyone else within a 20 mile radius, so it has to be something that is reallllllly easy to put together.

Thanks,
Sara and the pigs.

Many folks just zip tie extra grids together. Not potentially dangerous, and easy to expand as necessary.

I use the top of a large pet store cage. I don't have a photo with the whole thing in it but here's an idea of what it looks like:

It works well for me because there is one small section of the yard which is flat, everywhere else has multiple gradients so it can be hard to find spaces on the grass where the cage will sit with no gaps.

I use an old store cage too, but my piggies don't use this time to run, they just sit there like small furry cows, eating the lawn. If they ever showed interest in actually running around I would ziptie some grids together. We go outside everyday the weather is nice, which ids a lot right now.

Thanks Grace! That is a really good idea, i'll be using it in the future.

Mine do that too! Winifred will sit and eat excessively! And just like a cow, she does swell up a little bit after eating all that grass. The naps she takes after it... My goodness! Nothing will wake her. Post-feast exhaustion ha ha :)

Not a problem. Just remember to move it around often because it isn't a large space, they can and will eat down to the dirt.
