What happens if its not short term, what happens if it is a chronic illness? Are you ready to take on that responsibility? I'm asking, because this is something you really need to think about before you get an animal. Because, once you get that animal you are saying "I will take on any responsibility that comes with this animal". Especially as they age, they increase the chance they will have chronic health problems.
