I want to get my little piggy a friend but my mom thinks it will be to much work and smell how can I convince her and what to do about smell?

You could show your mom this website and all of the great info. You could explain that GP's are herd animals. They like and need the company of their own kind.

As for the smell. How big is your cage? What type of bedding are you using? If you Donnie is in a pet store cage it is to small. It would need to be cleaned daily. If you are able you should build a 2 grid x 3 grid c&c cage. There is many threads on c&c cages and bedding. Read up and research on cages, food, and many how to give your Donnie and hopefully a friend a long and happy life.

If your mother sees you doing the research or better if you and she could research together, she maybe more willing to let you have another same sex freind for Donnie.
Keep us posted on how it goes.

I second everything suzilovespiggie said! My girl was a completely different pig once she got a friend! So happy!

A clean guinea won't smell :) if the cage is cleaned regularly, there shouldn't be much of an odor. I got two adopted guineas today for Honey... should have seen how much popcorning my little fluffball did! lol she was so happy to have new buddies!! They love being together :)

Also, the bigger the cage, the less the smell. I found that although pine can give off a nice smell, it's bad for guineas... Some people use aspen, I am not sure of that. Fleece is easy to clean (shake/vaccuum/brush then wash), the recycled paper kind like Kaytee seems to be favorable.

I clean the cage reguarly but I think he sprays whenever I clean it. He lives in a c&c 2×3.5

he also has a 1x2 loft

well, you'd have to ge another boar, unless you plan to fix a female, or him. I'm not even sure on the introduction of males (I've been told it is harder, but, don't take my word for it). I've noticed (even with rabbits) when I worked with guineas and other critters, they tended to spray more when alone... not sure if that was just me seeing that, or what lol.
