Introductions Future questions

In a month or so I'll make a cage. When the new cavy arrives should I introduce by putting them both in the new cage, since all smell will be neutral, or introduce them outside of the new cage before putting them in? I might bathe the new piggy but I'd refrain from giving cinnamon a bath since I did so resently. Plus Cunnamons pretty friendly around other guinea pigs.

Introductions should be done on neutral territory but outside the cage so they have enough room to wander around. Inside a cage will seem very constricting when they are meeting a pig they do not know for the first time.

You don't have to bathe the new pig or Cinnamon. Just let them find each other and watch them carefully. Do not separate unless there is bloodshed, even if it seems like they are getting into a scuffle.

Introductions can take a while. So be prepared to sit and watch them for an hour or more.

How big is the cage you are making? Size can make a big difference in if pigs get along or not.

The cage I plan on making will probably be a 2 by 4 with a 1 by 2 loft

Okay, so another female in a 2X4 should be fine. Males need a little more space, which is why I asked. Incidentally, where did you find a female to be Cinnamon's friend?

We introduced Quee and Kwee on the floor on fresh sheets, and they got along nicely. Then we put them both in a new C&C cage for the first time, and it went pretty smooth.

I haven't gotten one yet, I'm still trying to form a plan to give my mom a heads up on what I want to do. We're probably getting a house soon so I won't put what I'll do in action until then most likely since I don't have enough room in our current apartment
