My daughter discovered a bump on the back of her guinea pig. Seems soft and not hard. What could it be?
 
No, its on his back. Not backside. Its a bump under/in his skin.

It's most likely one of three things--

1. A cyst, probably sebaceous.
2. An abscess.
3. A tumor.

Only a vet can tell for sure, usually by drawing out some of the lump with a needle to see what type of cells they are. Cysts can be removed or left, depending on the size and location. Abscesses need removing, and antibiotics as well as daily flushing. Tumors are usually removed, depending also on the location.
