I have 4 male guineas that range about 3-5 months in age. I've read a lot about what kinds of veggies and fruits to give them. I guess what I am not really sure is how much I should give them. I've read various things like only 10% of their daily food should be veggies, etc.

If there are 4 guineas in a cage, and they share the same food dish that I put the veggie scraps in, approximately how much veggies/fruits should I give them a day (i.e. a cups worth, 2 cups worth)?

Thanks!

I guess you can't really give them to much veggies though fruit is a different story. This is what I feed my piggies 2X a day though I mix the veggies and fruits up so its not the exact same every meal:

Greenleaf/Romaine Lettuce (Each piggie gets his own entire leaf)
Green Beans (1 or 2 per piggie)
Broccoli (1 large stalk)
Cantalope/grapes (1 small ball or grape per pig 1X day)
Grass (in season about a large handful per piggie)
Oats (a very small amount as a treat every 2-3 days)
Cucumber (small slice per piggie 1X a day)
Carrots (1 large carrot every 2 days)
Unlimited timothy pellets
Unlimited hay (also a seperate hay area for eating)

I also add in kale, greens, cauliflower, corn on the cob and other things from time to time but try to avoid some of them because the calcium content is very high in some of the veggies and the corn is high in sugars but they go crazy for it when I put the corn ear in the cage and by morning they have eaten the husks, corn and everything but the cobb so I give them it maybe 2X a month though the husks I'll give them frequently when it comes into season here.

Hope this helps.

I have 2 piggies and I feed them once a day when I get home from work. This is an example. You really cant say a cup of greens because they take up so much room and they puff up, hard to measure.

a handful of mixed greens (romaine, cilantro, red leaf lettuce)
2 sprigs of parsely
1/4 cup of red, green or yellow pepper
6 little pieces of orange each

I also change it every few days, I will add kale instead of parsley, or spinach or brocolli. I change my pepper color each week. I also change my fruit. two grapes per piggy or small slice of apple each or cantalope.

I also give once a week or two weeks an inch diameter of corn on the cob, or a small slice of yam, or slice of banana which they love as a treat.

Experiment. If you see they are finishing everything on their plate you can add a little more the next time. You will know by seeing how much they eat how much you should give them.

You should give 4 cups a day. Each pig needs about one cup of fresh vegetables daily.

I give them a bowl full of mixed veggies and sometimes some added fruit, 2 times a day. The bowl would be 2 cups big.

Your information was very helpful. Thank you all so much! My guineas are going to be so-o-o-o-o happy when I get home from the grocery store today! :)
