I was Dollar Tree yesterday, and they had these heavy ceramic bowls that I would love to have for the guineas.
My only problem is, they are the same size (length wise) as a normal bowl, but only about half and inch deep.
I only intend to feed the guineas 1/4 or 1/8 a cup of pellets a day, but if it looks like a tiny amount in the bowl, I'll be tempted to give them more even though I shouldn't.
Should I not get these bowls and try not find something smaller, or will the bowls be okay?

As long as they can reach the pellets and it doesn't tip, there is nothing wrong with it.
The only concern for me would be, a bigger bowl takes up more room. I don't know if your cage is very large or if you have a separate kitchen. If not, i would consider a smaller bowl to safe space.

Those bowls should be fine. You can always use a measuring cup as a scoop for your food - that way there's no chance you'd accidentally give them too much. The big deal with finding a good pellet dish is that your pigs WILL prop themselves up on the edge, and if it is light, it's going to tip and spill pellets everywhere.

I use plates for veggies that have a 3/4" lip on the edge - they would actually work for the pellets, but I use cat dishes/crocks for pellets since those are heavier and harder to tip over.

For veggies I just use plastic plates that I got from Walmart for $1. For what it's worth I might as well toss it on the fleece. They just drag it off the plate anyways. lol For pellets we use one of those double sided plastic cat food dishes. They've never tipped it over so I guess it's good for them.
