I know this have been mentioned alot but i like to see one to one comparison of fleece vs. other bedding. Currently im using carefresh, but might switch over to fleece. I just wonder which one is better for the pigs

Fleece is awesome. I would totally use it if I had the money for fleece. Right now I am using a mixture of 3 parts kiln dried pine to 1 part carefresh,

My mom HATED woodshaving being tracked all over the house, so fleece keeps her happy which means more toys for the guinea pigs (heh)

Fleece really is cheaper than bedding. Just look for 'picknic blankets', they aren't that expensive!

Don't you find that carefresh is extremly expensive? I was looking into using carefresh but it is £3.99 for 10litres. At the moment I have to use 140Litres just for three cleanings.

Everyone has their own opinion on this. I use aspen and I am happy with it. I dont think its expensive. buy the very large bag for about $14.00 and it lasts me 6 weeks. It would cost me more to wash the fleeces in the laundry. I once tried fleece when they were in their own cage and I hated it. It lasted 24 hours. I couldnt stand all the poops . Whenever I cleaned it, one hour later it was over run with poops again. I couldnt stand looking at it. Also I do my wash every 2 weeks. There is no way I am doing laundry every 3 days. Also the hay sticks to the fleece and I could not get it off. Then you still have shavings in a litter tray. That gets tracked onto the fleece and I cant get it off. I live in an apartment house so I use a public laundry room. Much harder for me than for someone who lives in a house. Actually that is a major reason why its harder for someone living in an apartment.

Now that they are in a larger cage, I may try again using not fleece though, another fabric instead of aspen. Figuring that the cage is bigger it wont be as dirty looking as quick. I'll see.
