Tried using fleece in my cage instead of pine. That lasted for 24 hours. Couldnt stand seeing all that poop constantly. I was forever using my hand vac. I became a slave to those poops. My guinea pigs hated it, they wouldnt move. Of course I didnt give them any time to get use to it, but I am now back to my messy pine but i prefer it over fleece any time. Any way I live in an apt. no where to just fling it outback. Anyone else prefer shavings to fleece?

I guess it just depends on the person. I don't like having to vacuum up all the shavings every day. Do you use kiln-dried pine, or just regular pine?

Oh, well you're not supposed to use pine unless its kiln-dried. It smells too strong and can give your guinea a URI. Use Aspen or kiln-dried.
