First C&C Cage!

Today I made my two little pigs their first C&C cage. Its 2x4 grids and I think my pigs love it. I find one thing very funny though. I made a lid out of coroplast, just something simple to hopefully keep out curious dog out for now. But when the lid is on the cage the girls will be very quiet and take turns hidding in their pigloo. I took the lid off a few minutes ago, and now they're busy squeaking away and exploring the cage. Perhaps does the lid scare them?

I just built a 2x4 yesterday for my piggie and I used the 4 cubes for the back half of the top and then wire shelving for the front half so I can open and close it. My piggie loves it! We are going to get him a friend today.

I think that the coroplast just makes the cage very dark and they think its time to sleep!

You could try to have the lid up as much as possible or cut ALOT of little holes all over it.

I keep the lid up whenever I'm downstairs and I have an eye on the dog. I think that they're getting used to it more. They both run around alot more now then they used to.

Nice cage!!

Another suggestion is to call around used furniture stores or office stores for a folding banquet table. This would elevate the cage so your dog wouldn't be able to bother the pigs and the lid could stay off all the time.
